Number 1 Question:

What does something like this cost?
Each project is different, this may be something where you only want to Honor one Deputy,
or several in the Department, County, or District

Therefore, I cannot give blanket quotes, please call me at 760-346-4966 or e-mail me,
for more detailed information

What is involved in a project of this type?
My relationship with The Riverside Sheriffs Association has grown over the years, they entrusted me to contact all the Families of the Slain Officers. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. Most of the families tragedy happened years ago, so my initial contact required a heartfelt plea for their involvement to honor their lost loved ones

Another option, the RSA offered was sending an introductory letter to each family, alerting them to myself and the project.

Each family had an opportunity to be involved , some declined .
One by one each family contacted the RSA, about the validity of this project .

The very painful part for each family was deciding which pictures to include . I encouraged them to share their Family pictures, you will notice in the video, the ratio of Family/Officer pictures.

Photographs, home movies, departmental video or awards

Each photo is carefully scanned. I prefer originals, unless they are digital copies. The shipping of images to my studio is done by the Department, or Police Organization, and is always sent FED-EX, or UPS, never by regular mail.

There are some cases where I am contracted to video-tape the funeral proceedings for use in the video. My presence is very minimal, and NEVER obtrusive.

Any departmental video can be used in the video.

What about music?
Here is the most difficult part of my job.
Family members have tried to point me to their choice of music, which would work for their personal segment, but when all the parts are put together it becomes a mismatched mosaic, and not a masterpiece.

After putting the imagery together, I choose the music carefully. Music is the glue that hold the video together, it has to fit, and not distract.

Why do I do this type of video?
When my Mother passed away in 1990, I wanted to do something special to honor her memory. The imagery was very hard to relive it all, but when I started picking the music that was special to her & I, it ripped my heart out, being the emotional creature I am I knew the video was now perfect, which answers the above question too.

A part of me goes into each memorial I produce, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Thank you for the opportunity to view my work. I sincerely wish there were no need for this video, but a violent world surrounds us all.

Blessings to All,

Kristina McCarthy
